Unlocking the Secrets to Healthy Longevity

At Wentworth Lifestyle, we wanted to delve deeper into the science and strategy behind living longer, healthier lives, so we turned to one of the foremost experts in the field: Dr Sabine Donnai. As the founder of VIAVI, a leading health management clinic, Dr Donnai is on a mission to put individuals firmly in control of their health. VIAVI’s highly personalised approach combines in-depth evaluations of current health, performance, and long-term risk to help clients maximise their chances of living not just longer, but better.
What is VIAVI and what does it offer?
Viavi is a health management clinic , with the purpose of putting people in control of their health so that they can optimise their chances to live as healthy for as long as possible. To achieve this highly personalised health strategy, Viavi offers clients in-depth evaluations of their health, performance and future health risks.
What sets VIAVI apart from traditional medical assessments and its competitors?
A few areas differentiate Viavi from other, more traditional health assessment and competitors.
Firstly, it is owned and run by clinicians and this ensures that the focus and decision making always remains on the clinical delivery and performance rather than commercial.
Secondly, Viavi applies a fusion of the rapid advances in precision, functional, lifestyle and longevity medicine.
That means we can better understand the complex interconnected processes within the human system, and the relationships between the genetic foundations which are outside our control and the environmental and lifestyle factors that we choose to adopt. We recognise the importance of the role of purpose, the alignment of values and social connectivity in underpinning our longer-term health.
Thirdly, at Viavi clients have a multidisciplinary clinical team to support each client. The client also has their personal Health Manager who is a physiologist by back ground but has had additional Functional Medicine training to better support the client’s lifestyle needs.
Do you have access to a patient's medical notes before the assessment?
Yes indeed, previous medical records are always obtained where possible, as it is super important to understand trends over time and any problems highlighted previously.

Is it appropriate for all individuals? How do you manage cases involving hypochondriasis or Munchausen syndrome?
Yes, it is appropriate for all individuals. People with mental problems, hypochondriacs or suffering from Munchhausen syndrome are managed appropriately and several avenues are explored on how to help with the condition rather than feed it. . ‘First do no harm’ is an axiom we stand by.
Do individuals consistently adhere to the guidance provided and implement recommended actions? Do you conduct follow-up assessments to evaluate progress and measure improvements?
Every client has a Health Manager and there role is to support, guide, advice, re-test, re-evaluate the actions and strategy to ensure the agreed health goals of the client are, as much as possible, achieved. The strategy, actions and achieved outcomes are continuously evaluated subjectively and with objective markers.
With Alzheimer’s cases on the rise can the tests detect early signs, reveal genetic tendencies? Is it modern life itself putting our brains at greater risk?
The pTau, NFL and GFAP blood test identifies amyloid plaque formation in the brain years before the first symptoms can appear- giving the individual plenty of time to start addressing those lifestyles that are harming their brain and optimising brain support.
Genetic risks are identified through a saliva test.
Indeed, modern lifestyle is increasing our risk of cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s significantly. Whether it is chronic stress, poor sleep, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, environmental chemicals, etc.
What happens if a serious illness is discovered? Will your private medical insurance cover the cost of treatment?
Yes, when a serious illness is identified, the team at Viavi will support insurance claims for consultants, investigations and treatments
Are there any upcoming developments you are exploring that you would be willing to share with Wentworth Lifestyle?
The new blood pTau test is a new development which has been long awaited. To allow us to identify a risk of Alzheimer’s year before a symptoms presents itself and have the opportunity to avoid or significantly delay these symptoms appearing is a massive step forward in the fight of a disease that has now become the number one killer.
