Wentworth Lifestyle Local Creative Daisy Pyle
Life’s all about exploring new things and places, but sometimes the best discoveries are right in front of us the whole time. Here on the Wentworth Estate, we’ve uncovered a remarkable talent hiding in plain sight.
We've known Daisy Pyle for years but only recently discovered her extraordinary gift for art.
Curious to learn more, we caught up with Daisy to talk about her creative process and the inspiration behind her beautiful pieces.

Tell us a little about yourself?
I’m originally from Cuba, a place that deeply shaped both my artistic and emotional identity. I absolutely love colour and music, which is immediately clear as we sit in her beautiful kitchen, surrounded by lush plants and eye-catching artwork.
Although I initially studied Electrical Engineering, mostly to please my mother, my true path soon took over. I spent 14 years working in the art world, buying and selling pieces, before moving to England with my husband, John. He has been my biggest supporter, encouraging me to pursue my passion more seriously. That led me to study at Chelsea College of Art, followed by training at the Hand & Lock School of Embroidery & Creative Arts and the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace.
What or Who inspires you?
It was my husband who inspired me to take my art seriously, as sometimes it’s hard to believe in your own talent. I draw inspiration from everything around me. Music and sunshine are in my blood and while England is very different from Cuba and is quite dark in the Winter, I love it. There’s beauty here all year round. The changing seasons constantly offer new ideas and creative challenges.
What mediums do you prefer to work with and what do you paint?
Acrylic, as it is a versatile medium that enables me to fully express my artistic vision. Its flexibility allows for intricate detailing, dynamic layering and richly textured impasto techniques.
Most of my canvas pieces fall under pop art, characterised by bold visuals that radiate fun and a zest for life. I like to call it "sexy art", a term that might be misinterpreted, but it captures the essence perfectly. My work features playful, provocative imagery like women's legs in high heels, red stilettos and crimson lips holding cigars - symbols that celebrate indulgence and the joy of living.
"Being Cuban we don’t paint sadness only happiness”
Is there anything else you create or design?
I love painting on silk as it reminds me of working with watercolours, with its fluid, delicate feel. Sometimes, I’ll take a jacket or blouse I own and transform it by painting and embroidering directly onto the fabric. If something catches my eye, I find a way to reinterpret it on silk or clothing. And of course, everything I create bursts with bright, bold colours!
I adore embroidery, though it does require significant time and patience as these pieces take a fair amount of dedication to complete. At the Hand & Lock School in London I studied the art of Tambour Beading embroidery to learn the exquisite French Haute Couture technique, also known as Lunéville or crochet de Lunéville. It was such a wonderful experience.
And I love working with gold beading and recently made some delicate little brooches for my golf club team!
